The year was #1Son's first Easter hat parade, as we go to a church school we were told to chat about the meaning of the easter things we put on our child's hats as we made them....I would love to have heard some of the explanations! We chose a fairly easy design from a choice of 5 I scrounged from google images -it looked nothing like the original tho and had the added danger of poking the eyes out of anyone standing too close.

With our early start to the school holiday we took advantage of no crowds and joined a few other school families for a few days camping at Cotton Tree on the Maroochy River.
It was the boys' 1st time camping and they had a ball. We were amazingly lucky with the fine weather and while the beach was strewn with branches and too rough to swim in, the river was perfect . It was nice to have shops nearby to walk to so I didn't have to cook each meal -or even take enough food to last the whole time. There were even markets to visit one morning.

Then the Easter Bunny arrived and a hurried hunt was arranged after my little *Boy came snuggling into our bed at around 5.45am then moments later #1Son wanted a shower as he'd wet his sheets. It was raining on and off so while the shower was on, eggs were quickly hidden in the boys room much to their amazement as they had both somehow (!?!) not noticed them on their way out!!

My continued slow redecorating/ prettying up of my house (mostly influenced by the Nester) took another step up when I did a 5 minute window mistreatment. Not only are the nice patterned net curtain sections not hemmed they have just been 'artfully' draped and I hung one of my lovely (post xmas sale) decorations at a feature under the very rough 'rose' where they join in the centre. Nothing flash but it satisfied my need for some 'girly' in the house

#1Son had an excellent party adventure with his friends when they were all taken by a private bus to the Lego Learning centre in Merrivale St SthBne. They all had a ball 1st making lego badges they got to keep then building remote control vehicles. Us Mum's had to wander off for coffee or thru the markets while we waited as only 2 adults were permitted to join the fun. The kids had such a great time they didn't even notice the fact that the 2 staff had ZERO personality and attitudes that certainly didn't belong in a child zone.
I have tried to improve the 'look' of my upcoming fete by trying to transform some of the old side show games that we have stored at school..... my 1st effort while not brilliant, is an improvment I think.
And finally, my nearly-4 yr old *Boy has taken quite an interest in photography after being shown how to use MY camera by YD after his Prep school interview. Yes lovely but MY camera!! what is wrong with YD's snug little pocket camera? Anyway he is shooting anything that comes his way and has got the odd good shot off. In fact this afternoon I had him take some pics of me & #1Son as I needed to send a pic of us to school (for my Mum's day present I suspect). So that's the short version of what's been missing, for family members & special others there are more pics on the private family blog if you'd like to view them. For all others who visit thanks for sticking with me....
