I did it!

Well here are my results from my wonderful weekend up at the Eumundi Body Art Carnivale....

My lovely neighbour, pressed into modelling for me, did a superb job and even tho cold, managed to smile on stage. This was my first ever live competition and my first ever full body paint and I'm glad to say I wasn't the worst there, altho it would have been nice to have a novice section as there were quite a few of us having a go for the 1st time. It didn't work exactly how I'd hoped and I ran out of time for all the details I wanted to put in but I learnt heaps!

these are the Yay we've finished pics!

The next day I was pack for the Face painting, feeling much more relaxed, I mean we had 4hours to paint a face.....well let me tell you 4 hours can pass very quickly and I was rushing to finish I that last 45minutes! Still I was pretty pleased with the result and YD got his wish to be a model come true with cameras flashing at him all day!

Each category was only presented with a 1st prize and runner up and a people's choice. My friend Lorraine won the Peoples choice for the body art and it was only her 2nd body paint so we were thrilled for her. We weren't given any indication about how we did from the judges which was a shame, feed back is always good.

Oh I guess I should show you the winners.....no doubt a very hard decision given the talent there (and they were somewhat disputed behind closed doors....). The overall theme was Fantasy.

Doncha just love the www?

I've just had a new internet experience......I watched an episode of a tv show straight from my computer!
Well I knew it could be done but couldn't see the point really.

But last night, I forgot it was thursday (damn long weekends throwing everything out!).

I only want to watch 2 shows a week besides the nightly news:
Sunday 'Merlin' -I'm a sucker for Arthur tales, magic, knights and dragons
Thursday 'Glee' -I just looove this show, 'school kids' bursting into song and dancing along to great music, a narky teacher, weird problems.....what's not to love??

So today is Friday and suddenly it dawns on me that I missed my show
BUT I remember that annoying voice telling me after just about anything you watch these days that I could now go watch AGAIN on my computer!

HOORAY - and last night Madonna episode was a joy!

gorn at last

On Wednesday #1 finally lost his first baby tooth.....

Lost probably isn't the correct tern as it cost us $120 to have it pulled out and yes, it was already loose....

If you can see the gum above the missing tooth is inflamed - well it has been that way on and off since January and the Dr was at a loss and sent us on to a specialist who said go to the denist. Now I had taken him to the dentist only 2-3 weeks ago and when I showed her she wasn't at all concerned about it (but it wasn't particularly inflamed at the time).

Anyway YD had been taking him to the Dr and back to the dentist who apparently was surprised we had got as far as a specialist.

It was decied that the tooth (which was chipped and decayed from a fall when he was about 3) was infecting the new one trying to come down so it must come out. Thus the dental fee.

Meanwhile his bottom tooth has created the 1st ever gap in his teeth by moving & twisting to let the new one coming thru have a little room. And there ain't much room in that mouth, his baby teeth are tiny and xrays show his new teeth are all HUGE so orthodontist save us a seat in a few years time!

Oh and then of course there was the Tooth Fairy..... #1 had long held the desire for the TF to deliver him some 'paper money' for his 1st tooth.  Paper money - a strange ask in a country that has had platic notes his whole life! He didn't want the note because it represented more $$'s, he just wanted to put it in his money box..... TF came thru with a $5 note which he was thrilled with and deposited into his money box, with my words ringing in his ears that the Tooth Fairy only did notes for 1st teeth then it's only coins!
